Program content includes
Presentations relating to current issues impacting on the holistic care and management of patients in intensive care. We will cover topics such as recent trends in medication prescription, end of life care, organ donation, waveform analysis and the timing of tracheostomy. We will present information on medico-legal issues and the concept of choosing wisely in intensive care. An update on the clinical research in our ICU around ventilator hyperinflation will be provided as well as the trend towards under and post graduate education using simulation-based learning.
Prerequisites
It is recommended that physiotherapists attending have a reasonable level of experience in the management of critically ill patients.
