Lung Cancer Community Advisory and Focus Group
LUCAP Community Advisory Group and Focus Group
The Lung Cancer Clinical Quality Data Platform (LUCAP) project seeks to improve the care of people with lung cancer.
Researchers at the Institute and Curtin University are collecting simple clinical data, such as appointment dates, diagnosis and treatment, from hospitals in WA and other states to compare the care against the agreed quality standards across Australia.
They will publish reports highlighting the performance differences across hospitals, which will serve to drive improvements in the quality of care across the health system. An important part of this improvement process is understanding consumer and community needs.
Involvement Opportunities
Consumer Advisory Group
The LUCAP research team is seeking to establish a Consumer Advisory Group to advise and guide the project throughout its planning and implementation, ensuring the project prioritises consumer and community needs and desires.
The team is seeking consumers and community members who have lived experience with lung cancer, as well as health professionals working with individuals with lung cancer.
The Group will advise the project management team and Steering Committee on what is important to them and what consumers and community would like to see achieved from the project.
To learn how to get involved, visit Curtin University Consumer and Community Involvement (CCI) website.
Focus Group
The LUCAP research team is seeking volunteers to participate in a focus group. This small group meeting aims to better understand the views of people living with lung cancer and/or their main support person (spouse/partner, relative, or close friend).
